About the Association

MLA Purpose and Objective

• To educate and give guidance to locksmiths for the purpose of improving the locksmith's skills.
• To elevate the position of those engaged in the servicing and/or installing security hardware, to establish a standard of qualifications for membership, to promote the general and social welfare of the members of said Association and to educate the general public of our knowledge and training.
• To uphold and uplift the standards, ethics and ethical conduct of locksmiths.
• To work with the manufacturers of security hardware toward a sympathetic understanding of our mutual interests.
• To establish friendly cooperation among all locksmiths endeavoring to advance the mutual interest.

By Laws

That the dignity of their chosen profession may be perpetuated, it is the duty of all members of the MLA to:

1. Conduct themselves in a dignified manner and to avoid using any improper or questionable methods of soliciting professional work.
2. Cooperate in advancing the best interest of the locksmith trade by voluntary interchange of general information and experience with fellow locksmiths and
3. Encourage and promote loyalty in the trade and interest in public welfare, always ready to apply their special knowledge, skills and training for the use and betterment of the trade.

Our History

Our association was founded in 1957 and has been growing ever since.

We started with just a dozen members and now have over 200 active members.
